Jack says, “I wonder what Sam will look like when he’s older?”

I say, “ Like maybe in 10 years?”

Jack, “ Yeah.  Will he still be so cute?????”

 

Me, “ I don’t know Jack, what do you think?”

And on another cute note – Sam recently enjoyed his first chocolate chip cookie.  He agrees that they’re best straight out of the oven.  But don’t worry that this kid is only eating chocolate cake and cookies.  He also likes steamed broccoli and carrots, as well as cucumbers, apples, bananas, pears, peaches, shredded cheese, and various cracker-y type foods.  It’s just not as fun to see a baby eating broccoli for the first time!

Remember when we used to have our birdhouse web cam?  Well, we had to take it down during construction last spring.  But Jack’s science teacher sent home this link for an owlbox web cam in California.  Jack’s class actually lucked out and saw an egg hatch while watching at school.  We’ve talked about doing an owlbox ourselves, but now I guess we’re off the hook.  Have fun watching!

Jack celebrated his 10th birthday over spring break.  Happy Birthday bud!!!  He had a beautiful week to celebrate & of course, the kid is so lucky – his birthday is always during break.  So he never has school on his birthday. 

We celebrated in the AM with some yummy blueberry muffins & a trial run of “Happy Birthday” at breakfast.  Then his Mimi took him shopping & out to lunch.  And his friend Cody came over later in the day to check out Jack’s new air soft sniper rifle.  It was a pretty low-key day,but that fits Jack’s personality just fine. 

This picture cracks me up because – Wow!  Can you see all the smoke generated by blowing out 10  birthday candles?  It made me realize just how old my “baby” is getting!

This weekend (just before all the snow hit!) we had a sleepover party for Jack’s birthday.  The guys had an air soft battle with Brad, ate stacks of pizza, faced off with some street hockey, played X-Box, and generally just acted like a bunch of crazy 10-year-old boys.  Jack didn’t want another cake, so we had a sundae bar.  Those goof balls went through 2 whole cans of whipped cream, then decided it was time to smoosh their faces in their ice cream before they ate it.  Oh my, oh my, oh my . . . . . .

Woke up this A.M. to 9 inches of snow . . . . in March . . . . in Texas!!!! 

The kids snuck out while I was changing Sam and started cleaning the car off so we could go to church.  Then they had a little snowball fight.  Sounds good to me, until I become the target!
