We are enjoying Christmas break. Margaret and Jack are all about playing with their cousins and their favorite friends. Will wakes up every morning and asks, “School today?” His next question is always, “Speech today?” He’s so out of synch after 6 away from our regular routine – it’s going to be hard for him to jump back in to our full schedule next week. Sammy has his first real cold. Margaret’s had it for a while, and was sweet enough to share it with Will, Sam, and me. Sam’s worst off, though. Poor little guy. Brad and I hate to hear his coughs through the night. Hopefully it passes quickly.
I finally got my Christmas cards done today! Seriously, it’s only December 30, but I finally got them in the mail. Unfortunately I realized waaayyy too late that I only ordered about half as many as I need. But seeing that I’m just a teensy bit late, I decided to just cut my losses and let it go. If you don’t get a card from us please accept my apology. My blog is better than a stinky old card anyway.
Here are some cute pictures of the kiddos. They’re oldies but goodies – like me
Good pictures of the grandkids are worth the wait, right?
I just looked outside and it is SNOWING again!!! This Texas weather has been wild and unpredictable lately!

These Texas kids loved their white Christmas. And it is snowing again today!!! So thankful that Will and I went to the grocery last night for milk, bread, and oatmeal cream pies. Looks like we have everything we need!
It’s been a roller coaster of a month. Please excuse my lack of updates. I feel like we’re just getting settled back in for the first time since mid-November! These past 6 weeks have been packed with a cheer competition, playoff games, a family vacation to Ohio, surgery, a death in the family, followed by another trip up north, Christmas, a poisoned dog, and a house full of kids on Christmas break. Nothing much, really . . . by the way, we’re pretty sure the dog’s going to be ok now.
For now, I’ll just update you on Will’s post-surgical progress. It seems as though everything has gone well. Will’s lip and nose are healing well, although, the nose seems to get bumped pretty frequently in the course of regular boyish play. It’s pretty sore for Will when that happens, but nothing some mommy love can’t smooth over. Will’s palate is healing well, too. There don’t seem to be any holes opening back up, and we can hear a difference in Will’s speech already. We’re excited to get back to speech next week. Will misses his ‘Neice (Miss Janice), and I am confident in her ability to work wonders with this crazy kid.
6 days post surgery – still covered with quite a bit of derma bond (surgical glue). Looking pretty rough. Breaking my heart to leave this little face as I go out of town.
9 days post surgery – you still pretty swollen, but looking better! Happy that Mommy is back from Ohio.
14 days post surgery – back to normal activity (obviously)
18 days post surgery – Will KNOWS he looks good
Margaret is keeping me busy producing these “playmation” videos. We have now created a new area on the website to keep all these productions. Check them out and let us know what you think. She is getting lots of “help” from her brother. They are getting more and more involved and I now have to pick and choose which ones I will put on the website. This could be a full time job if I would let it. Margaret is all about the Hits so click away.
Time to watch the Bengals game. Go Bengals .. Enjoy the videos.
