Back to the Pumpkin Patch

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

We finally made it back to the pumpkin patch on Sunday.  Sam had a little cold, and Jack wasn’t in the mood, so they stayed home with Brad.  It was nice to spend some time with just Margaret & Will, who get along together so beautifully.  We didn’t go to the big farm out in the country this time, but headed over to a local church.  They stage a cute little patch, offer hay rides, and most importantly, have a professional face painter for the kids.

Side Note – If you look really closely closely at their smiles, you will see that Margaret and Will have matching smiles for now.  Will hasn’t really noticed a difference in his lip, but is very  concerned about the “hole” in his smile.  He is always looking at it in the mirror & comparing it to my teeth.  Well, he is thrilled that his sister now has a “hole” in her smile, as well.

Anyway, the face painter is the whole reason Margaret really, really wanted to go to the pumpkin patch!  We waited in line for nearly an hour – Will took breaks to go jump in the bounce house – but the kids were so excited with the beautiful artwork on their faces!

Margaret thinks so highly of me that she is SURE I will be able to replicate this look to go with her blue fairy costume on Halloween.  And Will shocked both of us when he chose the dinosaur design over the full-face Spiderman look!

Noodles

After lunch today, Will sits back in his chair with a satisfied look on his face.

“Mom” he says.

“Yes Will?”

“Noodles make my eyes go closed and my tummy say Mmmmmmm.”

The boy sure knows what he likes!

Game 5

Monday, October 19th, 2009

You’ll never guess what we did on Saturday.  That’s right — more football games!  Margaret is really getting the hang of cheerleading & I was so proud of her out there on the sidelines.  She can actually watch a game & know the appropriate situations in which to cheer.  My best friend as  kid (Heather G) was like that, and I always thought she was so cool.

Jack’s game was a total nail-biter.  His team finally won by an extra point in overtime.  I think the close wins are more exciting for the boys than the game where they dominate the whole time.

And of course the little guys got dragged along, too.  Not much choice, but they’re always good.

Don’t tell Margaret we went to the pumpkin patch while she was at school on Friday!

It was such a beautiful autumn day, we stayed 4 hours!  We even ran into Will’s friend Gabe – the boys were really happy to see each other!  Sam woke up to eat once, but otherwise slept the whole time.  Sweet baby!
