Big Brothers

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

Will is finally starting to warm up to the idea of being a big brother.  I’m not saying it’s his first choice – because if it was up to Will, he’d be an only child.  But I am seeing a few tender moments as Will realizes that A) this baby is not going back to the hospital, and B) yes, Mommy still loves all the kids just as much as she did before.  I have faith that one day these guys will be best friends.

Fall Weather

Friday, September 25th, 2009

With the unusually fall-like weather we have been having lately, Will, Sam, and I decided to take a trip to the zoo.  We invited Mimi to come with us.  It was a beautiful day!!   We have been enjoying these cooler days, because by Sunday it’s supposed to be back up to the mid-90’s!

Have you noticed that Will always either puts his hands up in his face or sticks his tongue out when he is having a picture taken?  What a goofball!!!

In the meantime, Sam is busy growing at lightning speed.  That kid is already growing out of some of his 3 month sleepers.  Amazingly, he looks more and more and more like Jack every day (I didn’t think it was possible for them to look more alike).

No update, just a cute picture I took this morning while Sam was helping me work in the kitchen.

Ready for More?

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

Week 2 was definitely a better week for football, weather wise.  After 9 straight days of rain (more days of rain than we typically have in 3 months) , we were unprepared for the clouds to part today.  We are all tired and sunburned – and yes, I am a very bad mom.  Even poor baby Sam has some pink cheeks from the sun!

Jack had a great game this morning!  He plays offense, defense, and special teams, so he is a busy little man out there.  He did sit out one play for a rest.  But the other team got a 1st down, so Jack was right back in there for the rest of the game.  I will never get used to seeing my little 61 pound boy hitting and taking down boys nearly twice his size.  He is a power house!

Want to see the best $2 I’ve spent lately?  Will took more than 2 quarters to eat this sno cone!

So we ran home, threw down some sandwiches (we like to say SAMwiches :) , changed our team shirts, and ran back out to Margaret’s game.  She really seems to have fun cheering & she looks absolutely beautiful in her uniform.

Check out my guys watching the game together.  And that rare hug that Will is giving Jack is priceless!

Week 2 down, and 2 more winning games.  Way to go Tigers!  Go Truth!!!

Are You Ready?

Friday, September 18th, 2009

I’ve got the Monday Night Football theme song stuck in my head.  I bet it’s stuck in your head now, too — ha!

Jack and Margaret had their season opener last weekend.  Jack lead his team to a 26-6 victory for the Truth in his first game as quarterback,  Go Truth!  No game pictures this week, because both kids had games at the same time.

Margaret had such a good time cheering for her team in the rain.  Her face held an expression of pure joy for most of the game, and she never even considered complained about the chill or the rain – which alternated between a drizzle and a downpour for all four quarters.  The Tigers won, too, which is nice if you’ve got to sit through the game in the rain anyway.

Will was a champion about hanging out in the rain. He had fun smooshing his crackers into the water on the bleachers & shaking the umbrella water on my head (grrr . . .).  But he didn’t complain or get restless until the very end, when he started getting a little cold.  And I just have to say – thank goodness for our AWESOME babysitter Kendall.  She agreed to keep Sam when I called at the last minute, even though she was getting ready for homecoming.  We are so blessed to have her.
